Gombe Tōken was a Japanese social worker. He was a chivalrous person of the Edo Period and a follower of Chōbe Banzuiin. When his master was ambushed and killed by Jirozaemon Mizuno and other retainers of the Shogunate, he planned revenge and with the help of others managed to ambush Mizuno and killed him. The Shogun then arrested all those responsible for the killing and sentenced Gombe to death.
