Graduated from the Orenburg Military School in 1911.
Born in Siberia, near Chita, Baikal
District. On active service during WW1. In July
1917, commissar of the Provisional Government in Siberia, one of the commanders of the anti-communist Cossack groups.
Fought the Red Army in Siberia, 1917-1920. In 1917 (October-December), organized a revolt against the Bolshevik government (Semenovskii Miatezh). In August
1918, in alliance with Czechoslovak legions, set up a military government in Siberia (Provisional Siberian Government).
Commander of a corps in Chita. At first, not recognized by Admiral Kolchak, later appointed by him Commander of Chita military district. In 1919, backed by the Japanese, proclaimed himself Ataman of the Transbaikail Cossack Army.
After the defeat of Kolchak, took over power in Siberia and the Far East, but was defeated by the Red Army in 1920. Fled abroad, Sep. 1921. Lived in Korea, Japan and Northern China.
In Sep. 1945, abducted by SMERSH in Manchuria. Tried and hanged.
