Since 1924 in film work. Has also worked as theater producer. Co-directed films: “Pokhozhdeniya Oktyabriny” (Oktyabrina’s Adventures) (1924).

Film trilogy: “Yunost Maksima” (Maksim’s Youth) (1935). “Vozvrashchenie Maksima” (Maksim’s Return) (1937). And “Vyborgskaya storona“ (The Vyborg Quarter) (1939).
