Career
Grigory Golitsin fought in Caucasian War, studied at General Staff Academy, commanded regiments. In 1876, was appointed Governor of Uralsk Oblast. Later on, served at a variety of position in other regions.
In 1897-1904, he was the Governor of Transcaucasia.
Known as the initiator of the confiscation of the properties of the Armenian Church. Wounded in an assassination attempt in Armenia in 1903.
