He graduated from Voronezh Commercial College and from Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society.
He toured around Russia a lot. In 1909, at the invitation of the Society of People's Universities, in Voronezh, he performed romances by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. In November 1912 he performed in concert together with L.B. Rostropovich.
After 1917 he emigrated and in 1921 he performed in the theater in Istanbul. In Paris he was an artist and director, he sang in the Russian opera. In 1931, he toured with the theater "Die Fledermaus" in Germany, where he directed the production of A.G. Rubinstein's "The Demon".
