Career
In 2009, Gu Bin started his professional football player career with Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League. In July 2011, Gu was loaned to A Lyga side FK Sūduva until 31 December. On 14 July 2011, Gu made his debut for FK Sūduva in the last group match of 2011-2012 Union of European Football Associations Europa League against IF Elfsborg.
In 2013,Gu moved to China League One side Chongqing F.C. on a one-year loan deal.
Gu Bin was born on November 10, 1991 in a poor family in Shanghai. When he was 2 years old, his mother left and never returned.
He received his preliminary education in the Fourth Preliminary School of Pingliang Road, a school famous for national football players, but his family was too poor to afford a pair of football boots, let alone the costs of professional training after the preliminary school. Fortunately, in 2008, Shanghai Shenhua Football Club made an exception of Gu Bin to offer him a professional contract.
Soon his talent was appreciated by the management.
In 2009, he was selected by Chinese U19 national team, and in 2010 he was sent to Atletico de Madrid to train with the reserve team and study Spanish football. In 2011, he was loaned to Suduva FK in Lithuania for one season and played in the starting eleven against IF Elfsborg from Sweden in Union of European Football Associations Europa League. Su Maozhen, the famous Chinese coach, viewed Gu Bin as a very talented and promising young player.
Gu is fast and agile in dribbling.
With his left-footed gift, he can always break through opponent"s defense as a left forward. In Shanghai Shenhua, Gu"s skills and hard-work are also appreciated by the coach.
His teammates nicknamed him as "Junior Hidetoshi Nakata".
