1910-1913 studied at Saint St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy. Expelled for revol activities and exiled from Saint St. Petersburg. 1913-1914 studied at Yur’yev University.
1917 graduate Medical Faculty, Khar’kov University. 1932 graduate Khar’kov Electrotech Institute.
1914 drafted into army as military surgeon. After graduate specialized in roentgenology under Professor South. P. Grigor’yev in Khar’kov. From 1923 director, Khar’kov Roentgenological and Radiological Institute.
Simultaneously, head, Department of Transport Medical, then head Main State Sanitary Inspectorate, Ukraine People's Commissariat of Health. Ukraine Deputy People's Commissar of Health.
1928 head, Chair of Roentgenology, Khar’kov Medical Institute. Pioneered network of oncological dispensaries in Ukraine. Founder, journal Voprosy onkologii.
1931 organized All-Union Congress of Oncologists, Khar’kov. Provided x-ray facilities in rural areas, inter alia at the Donbas mines. Attended several ini congresses on roentgenology.
Did research on the limits of x-ray identification of lesions in the skeleton. Made x-ray study of the peristaltic and evacuatory function of the stomach during hypnosis to prove how it is influenced by emotions. 1937 Chief State Sanitary Inspector, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics People's Commissariat of Health.
1937 arrested by People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs.
