Mr. Niehus maintained an architectural office in the city for a number of years.
After an early training in the local office of Frank M. Andrews, the youth acquired experience in draftsmanship while employed with a number of architects in Dayton. During subsequent years of practice he designed a number of important buildings including the Colonial Hotel, 1912, the Columbian Theatre, 1913, and later the Mecca Theatre.
He was a former member of the Dayton Chapter, A.I.A.
