Career
He was selected as the party"s leader on March 29, 2008, defeating incumbent leader Scott McKay. In the Quebec provincial election of 2008, the party lost more than half of its votes from the 2007 election after running only 80 candidates (down from the previous year"s 108). Rainville was replaced by Claude Sabourin on November 20, 2010 after deciding not to run for a second two-year term as leader.
Rainville is a geothermal energy consultant in Saint-Eustache.
