Treasurer and Supreme Court Judge, 1900.
Member of committee administering the Government of Sarawak during the absences of His (or Her) Highness the Rajah, 1898-1899, and 1901-1902. Retired from Sarawak Civil Service, 1902. Traded in Sarawak as a merchant, 1903.
Joined British North Borneo Civil Service, February 1904.
Appointed Resident of Province Clarke and member of the Legislative Council. Resigned appointment, December 1904.
Appointed European Adviser to the Pangeran of Lawas (Borneo), 1904, retiring from position and receiving compensation through Foreign Office when Lawas was taken over by the Rajah of Sarawak, 1905. Now interested in rubber planting in the Malay States.
