Vaughan, H. Leland was born on November 27, 1905 in Alliance, Ohio, United States. Son of James E. and Frances (Harris) Vaughan.

Designer projects in San Francisco area. Recreation and park commissioner, Richmond.

United States delegate to International Federation Landscape Architects, 1966-1969.
