Career
He represented Hampshire in the Canadian House of Commons from 1911 to 1921 as a Conservative. He was born in Portuguese Hood, Nova Scotia, the son of Edward Doctorate. Tremain and Emma Hadley, and was educated at the Portuguese Hood Academy, at King"s College in Windsor and at Harvard Law School. Tremain practised law in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
Tremain served on the town council for Windsor from 1906 to 1909.
From 1917 to 1921, he was a Unionist Party member. During World War I, Tremain was lieutenant-colonel commanding the 112th Battalion of Highlanders, which served overseas.
He died in Windsor at the age of 76.
