Career
Kashiwa learned to ski on McCauley Mountain in his hometown of Old Forge. He skied as an Alternate at the 1968 Grenoble Olympics. Kashiwa skied the World Cup circuit from 1968-1971, where he posted six top 10 finishes.
After racing in the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Kashiwa starred on the pro circuit from 1972-1981, winning the World Pro Title in 1975.
