Her debut single "Free" was released in 2012, and after releasing singles and music videos throughout 2013, Hanne released her debut studio album "Honest" on April 25th 2014. The album was recorded at Sound Shop studios and Omni Sound studios at Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. The album is in the popular/country genre and consists of Hannes own songs. The album was produced by Bruce Bouton, and mixed by Mark Capps in Nashville, Tennessee. Leland started working with the Swedish production/publishing company RoastingHouse in 2014, and she decided to change her musical direction.
She started writing popular music instead of country, and released her first popular single "Divided Soul" February 12th 2014.
The follow-up single "One Last Chance" was released March 27th 2014, and her third popular single "Into U" was released June 17th 2015. The popular singles did well on radio in Europe, especially in The Netherlands.
Hanne Leland was born in the small town of Byremo, in Vest-Agder. She is the last born of five children.
At the age of 9 she started playing the piano, and she wrote her first song at 10.
At 14 she started learning guitar, and she started competing in various talent shows in her home community. The demo consisted of 3 self composed songs, and she started promoting her music through MySpace. One of her songs were picked up by American radio stations, and got spins on various radio shows around the United States. 2011-2013 Early releases
Hanne Leland was discovered by the American record label Ring Road Records in 2011.
She left Norway, and traveled across the pond to start recording her debut album in April 2012.
After recording the full album, she realized the label was not as serious she thought, and she decided to drop the contract. She released her debut single single "Free" independelty in September 2012, but decided to trash the rest of the album she had recorded, due to her not being happy with the production of the album.
2013: Nashville
After a failed attempt to record her debut album, she decided to try again. This time with a different producer, and a new team
She got in touch with the respected musician and producer Bruce Bouton (Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks), and she hired him as the producer of her album.
She recorded the album "Honest" at Music Row in Nashville, along with members from Taylor Swifts and Dolly Partons band. She album was done in August 2013, and she went back to Norway where she signed a contract with the Norwegian label Siwu Music. 2013-2014: Honest
Hanne Leland released her debut single "Beautiful You" off of "Honest" in November 2013.
She released her second single "Home Is Where The Heart Is" in February 2014, and the full album "Honest" was released April 25th 2014.
2015-present: From Country to People’s
In 2014 Hanne Leland decided to go popular instead of country, as she felt popular was more right for her. She started working with the Swedish publishing company Roasting House in 2014, and she released the single "Divided Soul" in February 2015.
Later on, in March 2015 she released the popular single "One Last Chance", and she shot the music video for the song in Amsterdam, Holland. On June 17th "Into U" dropped, and the remix of the song will be released in October 2015, remixed by Cosmic Dawn (Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding).
