In 1920 he graduated from Hokkaido University.
Career
After serving as professor of Tottori Agricultural College he became professor of Tottori University. Noted for researches he conducted on seaside sand dunes in San-in area from viewpoint of forestry and utilization of sand dunes; awarded Chugoku Cultural Prize for 1949.
