Ordained Congleton ministry, 1889. Pastor Worthington, Massachusetts, 1889-1893. Instructor Biblical literature, Yale, 1893-1899.

Miner professor Hebrew, cognate langs. and Biblical literature, Congressional College (McGill University), Montreal, Canada, 1899-1908. Professor Hebrew language and literature, Auburn Theological Seminary, 1908-1938, professor emeritus, since 1938. In charge O.T. work at various times, 1899-1908, at Wesleyan and Presbyterian (Theological) colls., Montreal, and Semitic work at McGill.
