Goff, Harold was born on June 13, 1884 in West Jordan, Utah, United States. Son of Hyrum and Maria T. (Arnold) Goff.

Education

Graduate Utah State Normal School, 1902. Bachelor of Arts, University of Utah, 1917. Graduate study Columbia, University of Chicago and Chautauqua Summer School.

Career

Teacher grade school, Midvale, Utah, 1903-1905. Teacher Ricks Normal College, Rexburg, Idaho, 1905-1908. Instructor in English and oral expression, University of Utah.

1909-1913.

Began as reporter, West Jordan (Utah) Journal, 1898. Later with Intermountain Republican, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Herald and Salt Lake Herald-Republican. With Deseret News, Salt Lake City, since 1913, editor in chief and managing editor, since 1922.
