Educated Lowell School of Design, Massachusetts Institute Technology, Cowles Art School (all of Boston). Graduate Massachusetts Normal Art School (4 years’ course). Studied École des Beaux Arts, Paris, under Gerôme, and Academy Julian, Paris, under Laurens.
Served as teacher of art in De Witt Clinton High School, High School of Commerce, and Stuyvesant High School (all of New York), University High School (Chicago). Director Art Museum and School of Art, The John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, 1913-1921. Director Provincetown (Massachusetts) Art Association, since 1926.
Painter, designer, illustrator.
Exhibited at American Water Color Society, Architectural League, National Society Craftsmen (New York), Buffalo Exposition, The Art Institute of Chicago Chicago, John Herron The Art Institute of Chicago, American Rotary Water Color Exhibit.
