Graduated from the United States Naval Academy, 1879.

Career

He would marry Mary Barbour in 1911. Norton died on February 11, 1933 in Washington, District of Columbia and is buried with Mary at Arlington National Cemetery. Norton was appointed a cadet engineer in 1874.

He would go on to serve in England and the Republic of China, as well as aboard the United States Ship Swatara (1873) and the United States Ship Albany (CL-23).
