Mills, Harriet May was born on August 9, 1857 in Syracuse, New York, United States. Daughter of Charles de Berard and Harriet Anne (Smith) M.

Education

Bachelor of Arts, Cornell Univercity, 1879. Unmarried. Organized one of first and largest clubs for study of Browning and was for many years a Browning speaker. Active worker along sociological lines.

Advocate of woman suffrage since 1892.

Took part in constitutional campaign, New York, 1894, with Susan B. Anthony and Review Anna H. Shaw. Delivered many addresses in California, similar campaign, 1896.

Recording secretary and lecturer, 1892-1896, organizer and lecturer, 1896-1902, vice president, 1902, president, 1910-1913, New York State Woman Suffrage Association. Nominated on Democratic ticket for secretary of state of New York, 1920.
