Career
Business commitments prevented him from touring England. In his first two Tests, against England in 1886-1887, he scored 31, 24, 28 and 33 in low-scoring matches. He played for New South Wales from 1881-1882 to 1894-1895.
In the 1887-1888 season he scored 297 not out against Victoria.
