Mr. Rawson was well- known professionally, former president of the Iowa Chapter, A. I. A., and for several years president of the State Board of Architectural Examiners. Bom and educated in Des Moines, he studied architecture at Grinnell College and in Boston at "M. I. T.” After starting practice under the firm name of Hallett & Rawson in 1902, he withdrew in 1913 to enter into partnership with William L. Proudfoot under the firm name of Proudfoot, Bird & Rawson.
Among the major works with which he was identified during his twenty years in that association was the Polk County Tuberculosis Hospital, the State National Bank, an Office Building in Des Moines, buildings at Grinnell College, and the U. S. Post Office Building at Dubuque.
Mr. Rawson was well- known professionally, former president of the Iowa Chapter, A. I. A., and for several years president of the State Board of Architectural Examiners.
