Career

Not a professional musician but for years has devoted time largely to promotion of music in New York. A reorganizer of Symphony Society of New York and its president many years, assuming its entire financial backing, 1914-1928, consolidated, 1928, with Philharmonic Society and he became president of new organization (The Philharmonic-Symphony Society) which office he resigned, October 1934.
