Haruhiko Jetake taught as lecturer at Nihon University and then served at Toho Electric Power Company. He became manager (1935), senior managing director, president and then chairman of the board (1948) of Toho Railway Company.
Elected twice to House of Councilors (since 1947) and then served successively as member of Executive Board of Democratic Party, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Transportation, member of Political Affairs Research Committee of Democratic Party, as chairman of standing committee for transportation of House of Councilors toured USA, inspecting transportation situation.
