Studied under Hozuma Katori (from 1918) and later graduated from non regular course of Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts.
Thereafter taught at his alma mater; presently serving as professor of Tokyo University of Arts. Displayed works at Teiten (Imperial Art Exhibition) and finally won recognition at 10th Teiten. Frequently served as judge of Bunten (Education Ministry’s Art Exhibition) and Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition). Received Japan Art Academy Prize of 1954 for “A Bronze Vase" that he exhibited at 10th Nitten. Is councilor of Nitten.
