Haruki Watsuji graduated in shipbuilding from Tokyo University in 1915.
Career
Haruki Watsuji joined Osaka Shosen Kaisha (0.S.K. Line) and became director of its Engineering Department and managing director. Later became Mayor of Kyoto. Then took up his post of director of Kanlco Nippon (Japan Tourist Company). Also served as director of Kyoto Tourists' League and Kansai Shipbuilding Association. His books include "Ships and Scientific Technique," "Shipbuilding" and "Living and Science."
