In Polymer Chemistry from Wichita State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biophysics from Boston University School of Medicine.
He is a high-ranked academic manager at the Lebanese International University. He did his undergraduate studies in the Physics program at the American University of Beirut, and later continued his graduate studies in the States, where he earned a Master of Science Doctor Khachfe started his career as a research fellow at Northeastern University and also at the Center for Advanced Biomedical in Boston.
He started his teaching career at the American University of Beirut, and later became the head of the Bioinformatics and Structural Biology Unit.
He then joined the Lebanese International University and became Academic Director at its Nabatieh campus. Doctor Khachfe"s research interests include the structural determination and characterization of macromolecular assemblies, the analysis of complex signals, and the design and implementation of quality control systems
His projects focus on the amelioration of human life through understanding the molecular details of the disease-causing plasma apolipoproteins, particularly Apo B100 of the low density lipoprotein (LDL), on investigating the effect of body fat on the recording of Electrocardiogram signals, on the analysis of Enterprise resource planning of complex Electroencephalogram signals, and on the design and implementation of quality control and assurance systems for healthcare and educational institutions. Some of his published articles have been among the top 10 in their fields.
Doctor Khachfe is author of many research articles, and a reviewer and editorial board member in several scientific journals.
