Donahoo, Donahoo & Ball was founded in 1940 by Ernest West. Mitchell and John West. Donahoo as Mitchell and Donahoo (partnership). lieutenant was the first law firm in Jacksonville to specialize in taxes.
The firm name changed to Mitchell, Donahoo & Rogers with the addition of William T. Rogers in 1944. Following the death of Ernest Mitchell in 1948, the firm continued as a partnership until 1981 when it became a professional association.
