Heinrich Max Allihn was born in Halle-on-Saale, Germany on August 31, 1841.
From 1885 he was a pastor and school-inspector at Athenstedt, near Halberstadt ( Harz). Heinric Max edited the 2nd edition (1888) of Topfer's “ Lehrbuch der Orgelbaukunst,” and has contributed articles on organ-building to the “Zeitschrift fiir Instrumentenbau.”
