Career
In 1836 he became a full professor of pharmaceuticals. Foreign a period of time he was inspector of pharmacies in the Grand Duchy of Saxony. In 1826 Wackenroder isolated corydalin from Corydalis cava and in 1831 isolated carotin from carrots.
In 1845 he discovered the Wackenroder solution, a polythionic acid.
