Quotations:
"The more I read, the more my own imagination flew."
"I won’t write anything that I don’t want my own children to read or that my parents aren’t proud to claim. As a teacher, I try to write books that kids will love to read. Through the integrated teacher’s guides for each of my books, teachers can use my books to teach literature, English, art, music, history, social studies, health, science, math, and other related subjects. One of the best parts of writing for me is to go into classrooms and work with the young people I write for. This keeps me close to my audience and gives me a chance to encourage them to not only write but read!"
