H. Champion received a degree of Bachelor of Science from Natal University and the following year graduated from Rhodes University and received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors. Also in 1981 Helena Champion received a degree of Master of Science from the University of Guelph. In 1985 she graduated from Northeastern University and received a Master of Business Administration.
From 1998 to 2001 Helena Champion served as a Manager of quality assurance at Biogen Inc. Also from 2001-2004 she worked as a Manager of Good Manufacturing Practice at Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc., Andover, Massachusetts. From 2006 to 2008 she was a Quality Assurance Director at Wyeth Biotech, Biotech External Supply, Wilmington, Massachusetts
Since 2008 Helena Champion is a Principal consultant at Drug Quality Assurance, LLC. She advises Fund Managers, Venture Capital groups - explains technology and regulations and evaluates the operational capabilities and vulnerabilities of drug and device companies.
From 1976 to 1978 Helena Champion worked as a Laboratory instructor, supervisor at Capilano Universtiy, North Vancouver, Canada. She worked as a Senior scientist, project manager at Millipore Corporation, Bedford, Massachusetts, 1980-1985. From 1985 to 1991 Helena Champion was President and Chief Executive Officer of Bed and Breakfast Inc., Newton. Also from 1992 to 1993 she worked as a Senior scientist at Baxter Lytening Systems Inc., Danvers. Helena Champion was a Senior project engineer at Amicon (division of Millipore Corporation), 1994-1995. She held a position of a Manager of diagnostic unit at Genzyme Corporation, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1996-1998.
She is a member of American Chemical Society and Parenteral Drug Association.
