Käser served as general secretary under three presidents of Fédération internationale de football association, the Englishmen Arthur Drewry (1955–1961) and Stanley Rous (1961–1974) and from 1974 until 1980 under the Brazilian João Havelange. He was succeeded by Joseph "Sepp" Blatter. Two months after Käser retired from Fédération internationale de football association Blatter married Käser"s daughter, Barbara.
Käser worked as a civil servant in Switzerland, at the Federal Department of Economic Affairs and became the general secretary of the Swiss Football Association in May 1942.
Käser died in 1994 in Küssnacht near Zurich.
