Left school at the age of seventeen and went into Samuel Smith and Company’s Bank at Derby for three years. Then took up painting, studying at Lincoln School of Art and Antwerp Academy till 1SS8. First exhibited at the Royal Academy, 1890, The Fog Horn, puichased by the Canterbury Art Society, Christchurch, New Zealand, 1903.
Worked in Algeria, Egypt, etc. Member of the Artists’ Society and Langham Sketching Club. Artist, oil and water-colour, marine and figure.
