逸見十郎太
A former retainer of Satsuma (Kagoshima) clan; distinguisned himself during the Boshin affair as section leader in the Imperial Army (1868). After the Meiji Restoration was appointed captam of the Imperial Guard, but resigned soon after due to differences of opinion over the invasion of Korea and returned to Kago-shima. Later when Takamori Saigo rose in revolt against the Imperial army (1877) he sided with the former and died in action while defending Shiroyama Castle.
