One of Doctor Lych's main scientific topics in Soviet times was the economic effectiveness of melioration. He developed methodological and approaches to the estimation of the role of melioration of the lands in the development of agriculture of huge regions with not favorable natural conditions (like the Belarusian Polesje) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE `description` = VALUES(`description`); he suggested the method of evaluating economic effectiveness of capital investment into drainage and agricultural reclamation of innings and marshy lands. This helped to measure accurately the results of the malioration influence on the lands of separate Belarusian regions.
After the Chernobyl disaster Hennady Lych took an active part in serious scientific researches which considered the development of the system of scientifically proved actions to overcome the consequences of the disaster. He was one of those who developed the methods of defining, analysis and estimation of social and economic losses which come from anthropogenic accidents, besides, he made all these calculations. He also studied other ecological issues, among them making economy more ecological.
Doctor Lych now studies the problems of economic sovereignty (Lych is the co-author of the “The concept of economic sovereignty of BSSR”, “The program of BSSR transit to the market economy”), interstate economic integration, transition economy. Besides, he studies the problems of the effectiveness of world trade and innovative development of national economy, defining the role of state, competitive market and society in it, proving the necessity of their interaction with the aim of fastening the process of making economy innovative. He works on such issues as methodological approaches to the evaluation of economic effectiveness of export-import operations, increasing of competitiveness of national economy (mostly its agricultural complex) on the world market with the help of more effective adaptation to the globalization of world economic connections.
