Ern, Henri was born on January 20, 1863 in Dresden, Germany. Son of Adolph and Marie (von Ern) Reichel.
Educated college at Berne, Switzerland. Studied music at Conservatory of Music, Berne. Conservatory of Music, Dresden.
Hoch-Schule, Berlin, and in private studies at Paris under Jahn, Rappoldi, Joachim and Ysaye.
Was concert master and solo violinist of Societe Philharmonique, Rochelle, France. Made concert tours through France, Switzerland and Germany. Then solo violinist and teacher in London 6 years.
Came to the United States. Formerly head of violin and orchestra department, University School of Music, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Head violin department, College of Music of Cincinnati, September 1, 1907-June 30, 1911.
