Henrik Kristensen

Career

He stood down from the European Parliament in October 2006. On 3 October 2011 Kristensen was appointed to the post of transport minister in the Cabinet of Helle Thorning-Schmidt, and left office on 9 August 2013. On 10 October 2014 he again entered the cabinet, when he was appointed new Minister of Employment, taking over from Mette Frederiksen, who was appointed new Minister of Justice.

Membership

He is a member of the Social Democrats, which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and sat on the European Parliament"s Committee on Fisheries and its Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. He was also a substitute for the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and a member of the delegation for relations with the countries of south-east Europe. Member of the Folketing (1990-2004)
