Bachelor of Arts, University of Pennsylvania, 1868, A.M., 1871. Attended lectures law department University of Pennsylvania, 1868-1869.

Career

Admitted to bar, July 6, 1871, practiced in Philadelphia. Has been identified with some important cases, notably Commonwealth versus Griest, which decided that governor of Pennsylvania could not by veto prevent submission of a constitutional amendment.
