Henry I Dockweiler studied at parochial schools. Also, he got educaton at St. Vincent's High School (Los Angeles). Henry studied at University of Notre Dame (Indiana), Catholic University of America (Washington, D.C.). Also he studied law at University of California and University of Southern California. In 1917 Henry I DocKweiler was admitted to practice before California state and federal courts.
From 1917 till 1918 Henry I worked as an associate lawyer at Dockweiler & Mott firm. On the twenty-seventh of August, 1918 after examination he was appointed Secretary of Embassy or Legation of the United States (IV class). From July till September, 1918 DocKweiler worked in Department of State (Washington). From September till December, 1919 he took up a post of a Third Secretary at American Embassy in Tokio. Starting from December, 20 till February 26, 1920 Henry worked as a Second Secretary at American Embassy in Tokio. Starting from the twenty-sixth of February, 1920 he was a Second Secretary of American Legation in Beijing.
