He was associated in partnership with a brother (Gustave) after 1904 under the name of Trost & Trost, he maintained an office in El Paso, and participated actively in building activities in the state. Mr. Trost began architectural work in Tucson, Arizona, designed the Carnegie Library there, and other buildings in Phoenix and Douglas.
Trost & Trost were architects of the Franciscan Hotel in Albuequerque, New Mexico, an outstanding building in the city, and in El Paso designed the four main buildings of the Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy, and the County Court House.
