Solicitor Lackawanna Company many years First Lieutenant and captain, Company A, Scranton City Guard, 1878-1880, which afterward became part of 13th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard.
Judge-advocate with rank of major 3d Brigade, on staff of General Gobin, 1885-1887. Trustee Pennsylvania School for Deaf, West Mountain Sanatorium (Scranton).
