IRVING, Henry Brodribb was born on August 5, 1870 in London. Son of late Sir Henry Irving, Knight, and Florence, daughter of Surgeon-General O’Callaghan.
Studied at Marlborough College. New College Oxford. 2nd class, Honour School of Modern History. Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Appeared lirst on stage at Garrick Theatre in School, 1891.
Called to Bar, Inner Temple, 1894. With Mr. Comyns Carr at the Comedy, 1894-1895. Mr. George Alexander at the St. James’s, 1896.
Duke of York’s Theatre, 1902. Mr. Crichton in The Admirable Crichton. Hamlet, Adelplii, 1905.
Lectured Royal Institution, 1906. Iago, Lyric, 1906; first American tour, 1906-1907. Produced the Lyons Mail, 1908, which had a record run of 130 performances.
