Instructor history, Harvard, 1884-1885. Professor Latin, Middlebury (Vermont) College, and master Saint Paul’s School, Concord, New Hampshire (U.S.) Master Medford (Massachusetts) High School, and head of department of history, 1903-1911.

Editor of publications of New England Historic Genealogical Society, October 1912-October 1937, editor emeritus since 1937.
