Sharpe, Henry Granville was born on April 30, 1858 in Kingston, New York, United States. Son of General George Henry and Caroline (Hasbrouck) Sharpe.

Education

Graduated from the United States Military Academy, 1880. Honorary Master of Science, Rutgers, 1917.

Career

Appointed Second lieutenant, 4th infantry, June 12, 1880. Resigned June 1, 1882. Reapptd. in army as captain staff commissary of subsistence, September 12, 1883.

Promoted through grades to brigadier general commissary general United States Army, October 12, 1905. Brigadier general Question Manager Corps, August 24, 1912. Major general, September 16, 1916.

Quartermaster general United States Army, 1916. Major general line of the army, July 12, 1918. Retired, May 1, 1920.

Commissary in relief of flood sufferers at Cairo, Illinois, and Memphis, Tennessee, 1897. Chief commissary Camp George H.
