Brown, Henry Martin was born on April 28, 1850 in Bolton, Connecticut, United States. Son of Arba Harrison and Harriet (Dart) Brown.

Education high school, Rockville, Connecticut.

Career

Began at 16 as clerk in dry goods store, later partner with E. Stevens Henry. Formed partnership with brother, ex-Governor D. Russell Brown, and Charles H. Child, as Brown Brothers & Company, mill supplies, incorporated as The Brown Brothers Company, of which was secretary, 1893-1899. Organizer, 1899, also treasurer and general manager of the United States Bobbin & Shuttle Company, owning many plants in N.E.

President Industrial Trust Company, 1912-1924, later v.chmn. board. Officer or director many corporations.
