Chakava, Henry Miyinzi was born on April 26, 1946 in Kakamega, Kenya. Son of Joram and Lenah (Musimbi) Chakava.


Bachelor in Literature and Philosophy with honors, University Nairobi, Kenya, 1972. Postgraduate, University Nairobi, 1972. Certified in printing technical, Kenya Polytechnic, 1973.
