( This book, designed for students taking a basic introdu...)
This book, designed for students taking a basic introductory course in statistical analysis, is far more than just a book of tables. Each table is accompanied by a careful but concise explanation and useful worked examples. Requiring little mathematical background, Elementary Statistics Tables is thus not just a reference book but a positive and user-friendly teaching and learning aid. The new edition contains a new and comprehensive "teach-yourself" section on a simple but powerful approach, now well-known in parts of industry but less so in academia, to analysing and interpreting process data. This is a particularly valuable enabler to personnel who are not qualified in traditional statistical methods to actively contribute to quality-improvement projects. The second edition also includes a much-improved glossary of symbols and notation.

(This text, aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate studen...)
This text, aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, looks at a selection of distribution-free methods and tests. The authors have attempted to explain the techniques carefully and to give numerical examples for each. Each chapter deals with a specific topic. For most of these topics two tests are presented: a relatively sophisticated one with power properties, and a simple one where ease of execution is the main priority. Apart from the chi-squared and sign tests which date from the beginning of the century, the origins of the techniques lie within the period from the late 1930s to the present day. The tests have been chosen on the basis of usefulness and ease of application. Also covered are some of the important advances which have been made since the mid-1950s. Introductory chapters examine the necessary statistical background and general ideas about hypotheses-testing. The book may be of interest not only to statistics students but also those who use statistical techniques covering a wider span.

(This classic is the definitive book written about Dr. Dem...)
This classic is the definitive book written about Dr. Deming and his work. The author and Dr. Deming were friends and colleagues who worked together to be sure that readers would clearly understand the principles and philosophy developed and taught by Dr. Deming over the course of a half century. The book begins with a first-rate historical perspective and then goes on to explain the basic tenets of the Deming philosophy, including such topics as The Fourteen Points, The Deadly Diseases, The Obstacles, and the System of Profound Knowledge (updated shortly before Deming's death in 1993). Dr. Neave has powerfully communicated both the message and its importance to the business world of today
