Mr. Jacques acquired his architectural training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Career
He began his professional career in 1885 in association with Robert D. Andrews (see), and a few years later was joined by Augustus N. Rantoul, third partner in the firm of Andrews, Jacques & Rantoul. He began practice wih Mr. Andrews. In the years that followed, the firm received many important commissions, and Mr. Jacques participated in designing the following public and commercial buildings in Boston and other cities: new wings of the Massachusetts State House, 1895 and 1913; State Armory, Boston; County Court House, Worcester, Mass.; Jamaica Plain (Boston) High School; Town Hall, Nahant, Mass.; High School, Brookline; Dexter Building, Boston; Connecticut School for the Blind, Hartford; Childrens' Hospital, Denver, Colo.; Boston Building, Denver; Tichnor High School, Boston; and buildings for the Equitable Life Insurance Co. at Denver (c. 1892) and Des Moines, Iowa, built about the same time.
