MONEY, Herbert Cecil was born on September 20, 1857. Son of late Captain George Welland Money, 3rd Madras Light Cavalry, of Walthamstow, Essex, and Mary Caroline Halsted, granddaughter of Admiral Sir Lawrence Halsted, Knight Grand Cross of the Bath, and great-granddaughter of 1st Viscount Exmouth.

Studied at Horn ton School. Privately.
Career
Joined the Royal Marines at Chatham, 1876. Served in the Royal Marines Battalion sent to South Africa for Zulu War, 1879. Served in the Royal Marines Battalion through the war in Egypt, 1882, and was present at the occupation of Port Said, and all tin actions culminating in the battle of Tel-el-Kebir.
Was mentioned for the capture of two guns al Kassassin. Served in the Soudan War, 1884, and in the Boer War, 1900-1901. Was Senior Officer of Marines in the Mediterranean Fleet, 1897-1899.
Aide-de-camp to the King, 1905. Royal Marine Light Infantry; Commandant of the Plymouth Div. since 1900.
